School systems may now license up-to-date learning objects rather than buying text books that may be out of date before one year of use. The JumboFox digital rights management (DRM) service allows content publishers to license learning objects at greatly reduced expense but ensure the publisher’s copyrighted material does not remain in use beyond the licensing terms. DRM allows the school system to pay for exactly what they need when and where they need it. For example, when one school finishes a lesson plan another school in the same system is about to start, the learning object in the lesson plan can be transferred to where it is needed – no additional copies to buy or ship across town.

For learning object publishers they have the peace of mind knowing they are receiving compensation for the use of their material as agreed to with the school system.
